Shikhar Dhawan scores 248, helps India A beat South Africa APretoria, Aug 12, 2013: Riding on opener Shikhar Dhawan's memorable knock of 248 runs, India A defeated South Africa A by 39 runs in the sixth match of the Tri-Series to reach the final of the tournament here on Monday.
Chasing India's mammoth 433 for three, South Africa A were all out at 394 runs in 48.4 overs.
Dhawan smashed 30 boundaries and seven sixes in his 150-ball knock.
His 248 became the second highest individual List A score.
Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara (109*) added 285 runs on the second wicket partnership that helped India A post a massive total in the crucial match against South Africa A on Monday.
Reeza Hendricks (106) and Vaughn van Jaarsveld (108) hit centuries for South Africa A but their innings failed to help their side reach the target.
Ishwar Pandey remained the pick of the Indian bowlers as he scalped four wickets by giving away 76 runs in his nine overs.
India A will face Australia A in the final of the tournament.
