3.5 earthquake hits Pithoragarh district in flood-ravaged Uttarakhand

Pithoragarh, June 27, 2013: A minor earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale rocked Pithoragarh district in flood-ravaged Uttarakhand on Thursday, officials said.

The earthquake occurred at around 11:50 am, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) website said.

The epicentre of the quake was located at latitude 30.1 degree north and longitude 80.4 degree east and at a depth of 4 km, the IMD said.

There is no report of casualty or damage so far.
