Botsa Satyanarayana refuses to comment on Pedana MLA Jogi Ramesh’s remarks

Hyderabad, February 5, 2013: Declining to react on Pedana MLA Jogi Ramesh’s remarks against him, PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana has said those who (Congress MLAs) were criticizing party president Sonia Gandhi and the party were not being treated as Congress leaders.

It may be recalled that Jogi Ramesh had alleged a few days ago that the PCC Chief, who had said that nine MLAs have been suspended from the party for indulging in anti-party activities, was actually trying to unseat N Kiran Kumar Reddy from the Chief Minister’s post.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, PCC Chief said the party would initiate action against the MLAs, who criticized the party. The PCC Chief also said that ‘action’ would be initiated against those leaders, who were criticizing him and the party. He said the leaders should be loyal to the party if they want to continue in it.

Botsa said the people were not confused at the developments in the party, but the media was creating confusion for sake of gathering sensational news. He said the people know very well to whom to teach a lesson. He asserted that the people would teach a lesson to those parties which were hatching conspiracies against the Congress.

Condemning a news report against him in an English daily on Tuesday, Botcha said he didn’t encroach even 15 cents of land in Vizag City. He said he was ready to hand over the alleged encroached land to that English daily if it proved that the land was in his name. He advised the English daily to cross-check the information with the officials and should have contacted him before publishing the news item. He said he didn’t encroach upon a single inch of land during his entire political career. He also made it clear that he would not indulge in such activities even in future. He said the newspapers should not publish such baseless news.

It may be mentioned here that the English daily has published a news item that Botcha had encroached upon 15 acres of land in Visakhapatnam.

Thanking the farmers for ensuring victory of the Congress in the Cooperative Societies elections, he said the responsibilities of the Congress Government have increased with the win. He said the Congress government will strive to work up to the expectations of the farmers. He said the Congress party did well in the Coastal Andhra region except in Guntur district. The party grabbed 199 societies in Krishna district whereas the TDP won in 132 and YSRCP in 53 societies. The results clearly shows that the ruling party was strong in Krishna district. He has asked the DCCB Chairmen to work as a bridge between the farmers and Government.

Responding to a question, PCC Chief urged the youth in Telangana region not to commit suicides as the Congress party was seriously working on Telangana issue to find a permanent solution. He said the Congress will announce its decision on Telangana issue as soon as possible. (NSS)
